HONORARIUM PROVIDED TO EMPLOYEES

NO. 2479. SHRI RAM NATH THAKUR:

Will the Minister of HOUSING AND URBAN AFFAIRS be pleased to state:

(a) whether it is a fact that Government is determined to get and to provide the honorarium fixed by Government to the employees engaged on outsourcing basis under the tender process;

(b) if so, the details of minimum honorarium being paid to skilled, non-skilled and other types of employees, including civil and electrical;

(c) whether in the tender of CPWD, Dev Nagar, Karol Bagh, employees working on outsource basis are being paid less than half of the designated honorarium; and

(d) if so, the details of the steps taken by Government to prevent such arbitrariness?

ANSWER

THE MINISTER OF STATE (INDEPENDENT CHARGE) OF THE

MINISTRY OF HOUSING AND URBAN AFFAIRS

(SHRI HARDEEP SINGH PURI)

(a) & (b) : In all the contracts under Central Public Works Department (CPWD), conditions for payment of minimum wages fixed by the Government are stipulated. As per existing guidelines, there is no provision for payment of honorarium, over and above stipulated minimum wages, to the workers engaged on outsourcing basis.

(c) & (d) :Does not arise in view of reply to parts (a) & (b) above.
