No Proposal to Cut 30 percent Salary of Central Govt employees – Finance Ministry

Some News Channels claimed that central Government is considering across the board pay cut for Central Government Employees amidst of corona virus outbreak.

It went further to say that the Pay cut proposal yet to be accepted by central government, if accepted there will be 30% salary Cut to Apex Level Pay Scales Like Secretaries and Executive Levels and then coming down in a graded manner to the lower level up to Group C employees except erstwhile Group D Employees.

But the official twitter handle of Ministry of Finance has refuted this media reports. It reassured that there is no such proposal is under consideration. The Finance Ministry has tweeted the following

There is no proposal under consideration of Govt for any cut whatsoever in the existing salary of any category of central government employees. The reports in some section of media are false and have no basis whatsoever.

The timely announcement of Finance Ministry is a big relief for Central Government Employees in this difficult situation
