West Bengal Chief Secretary Sanjay Mitra is new Roads Secretary

Mr. Gupta is presently serving as the Special Secretary in the Department of Public Enterprises. It also assigned industrial policy and promotion secretary Amitabh Kant with the additional charge of NITI Aayog, the Centre's think-tank and link with the states, as Sindhushree Khullar's extended term is due to end on Thursday.

West Bengal Chief Secretary Sanjay Mitra is new Roads Secretary New Delhi:In a reshuffle of senior officials, the West Bengal Chief Secretary and senior IAS officer of the 1982 batch, Sanjay Mitra has been appointed as Union Roads Secretary. Johri, Secretary of Department of Disinvestment in Ministry of Finance, has been shifted out and will now be Chairperson of National Authority for
Chemical Weapons Convention. Against the target of Rs 69,500 crore disinvestment, including through the revival of strategic sale, the government is staring at a massive shortfall, although it is confident that the fiscal deficit target would be met. Gupta has an uphill task during the remaining three months of the fiscal year. There is still no regular appointment meanwhile for the post of Secretary (Security) Cabinet Secretariat with Sanjay Kumar Shrivastava, Secretary (Coordination) in Cabinet Secretariat now been given additional charge of the former post. All these appointments were cleared by the Appointments Committee of Cabinet headed by the Prime Minister.
