Raj Bribery Case: ACB Submits Charge Sheet Against IAS Officer Ashok Singhvi

Jaipur: Anti corruption Bureau of Rajasthan today submitted chargesheet against eight persons including suspended IAS officer Ashok Singhvi in a case of alleged bribery involving Rs 2.55 crore.

Investigating Officer, Shankar Dutt Sharma, Additional SP ACB, submitted the chargesheet in the ACB court against former Principal Secretary Mines department Ashok Singhvi, two other suspended officers of the mines department Pankaj Gehlot and Pushkar Raj Ameta, mines department’s middlemen Sanjay Sethi and Rashid Khan, chartered accountant Shyam Singh Singhvi, Sher Khan (mines owner) and Dhirendra.

A team of the ACB had arrested five persons from Udaipur and two from Bhilwara on September 16 with huge amount of cash.

Before Singhvi’s arrest, the ACB had conducted three raids in Udaipur and Bhilwara in September and seized total illicit cash of Rs 3.82 crore.

Rs 2.55 crore (out of the total seizure) was to be delivered allegedly to Singhvi and other officers, ACB officials had said.

The bribe amount of Rs 2.55 crore was allegedly taken from a Chittorgarh-based mines owner Sher Khan for allowing him to restart operations in his mines, which were closed by the mines department, DG-ACB Navdeep Singh had said in September.

All of the accused are under judicial custody and the magistrate Ajit Singh has extended their judicial custody till November 19.
